Fast Healthy Meals for Busy Lifestyles-Part 2
Dr. Steve’s Get You Through the Day Fast Healthy Meals and Snacks
Life just keeps getting busier and busier. And sometimes even the fastest animal on the planet can’t keep up! With a constant on the go lifestyle, it can be a real challenge to eat healthy. My clients tell me that this is one of their biggest obstacles to overcoming chronic health issues and losing weight.
They tell me typically their resolve to eat healthy takes a big misstep during the middle of the day-This is when they find themselves on the road, hungry, and unprepared.
The choice becomes: “Should I starve myself until I get home or do I eat something now I know is unhealthy (fast food) and then beat myself up about it with guilt afterwards?” Neither is a good option.
So in this post, I am going to share with you one of my most powerful weapons to handle this pesky problem. I want you to have some tools to use to take charge of your own health and well-being…
….And I also want you to have the energy you need to handle your very busy life and still have some left over to enjoy the good things too! You can only get this kind of energy by eating healthy unadulterated food.
The good news is that there are actually many healthy choices for mid-day snacks and meals that also taste good and take little time to prepare. Watch this video and you will see what I mean!
So here are a couple of tips for what I call Dr. Steve’s Get You through the day Fast Healthy meals that will keep you healthy, lean and fit…and most importantly out of the drive-thru line !
First- make the small investment in your health and buy a lunchbox and thermos, mini cooler or insulated back-pack with synthetic ice. (Hey no excuses about shelling out a few bucks -we are talking about your life-long vibrant health here for crying out loud!)
Second- go to a health food store like Whole Foods Market and buy an assortment of raw nuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and dehydrated fruits to create your own healthy “trail mix”. You can buy the pre-mixed versions or experiment with your own combinations. You want raw so nutrients are denatured and you want unprocessed (no added oils, salt, sugar or sweeteners) to keep you lean and your liver and blood sugar happy and healthy
You should only need to shop and stock up every week or so; and during the week it takes only a minute to restock you lunchbox or cooler the night before. So for a minimum expenditure of time and effort, you busy life-stylers are good to go!
Third-throw into your backpack, cooler or lunchbox some fresh whole fruit.
Fourth- fill a thermos or lid-tight tumbler or two with some of the extra Dr. Steve’s Protein Shake you made for breakfast. If you missed that post here is the link: http://bellyfatinferno.com/blog/
The shakes are very filling, taste great and the energy boost is wonderful to have in the middle of a very busy or hectic day!
So these are a few of my go-to strategies when I am on the road, short on time, and don’t want to resort to processed, unhealthy convenience foods.
